About the Artist
Paulina Domagalska is a Polish contemporary sculptor whose practice explores the emotional, symbolic, and ethical relationship between humans and animals. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, she has developed a distinctive sculptural language grounded in refined form, psychological sensitivity, and conceptual depth.
Paulina's work is informed by her fascination with how animal behaviour mirrors human experience — instinct, hierarchy, vulnerability, adaptation, and the silent negotiations that shape coexistence. By observing movement, posture, and presence in animals, she creates sculptures that become metaphors for human attitudes, social dynamics, and the environmental changes defining our time.
Artistic Research
Her artistic research addresses themes such as dominance and dependency, interspecies communication, urbanisation, environmental pressure, genetic and technological intervention, and the shifting boundaries between the natural and synthetic worlds. The resulting sculptures are quiet yet emotionally charged — revealing tension, tenderness, alertness, or resilience with minimal gesture.
Collaborations
Paulina frequently collaborates with artist Szymon Motyl, with whom she explores new materials, experimental surface treatments, and contemporary approaches to representing form. Together, they have developed a sculptural technique that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics, producing works that feel both timeless and distinctly current.
She gained formative experience working alongside Jerzy (Jotka) Kędziora, assisting in the development of large-scale sculptural installations and deepening her understanding of spatial composition, balance, and site-responsive work.
Vision
Paulina's sculptures have been exhibited in Poland and abroad, increasingly finding a place in contemporary architectural environments, public spaces, and private collections. Her work aims to provoke reflection on our shared future as species — a reminder that no being exists independently, and our own survival is inseparable from the condition of the world around us.

White Foal
2025
Dimensions: 135 × 125 × 70 cm
"In my practice, I strive to capture the atmosphere of a place, a situation, or an emotion by seeking their echoes in the animal world – in beings whose posture and movement can express what words cannot.
When reflecting on Dubai, the first image that emerged in my imagination was that of a white foal – a young horse, full of vitality and radiating fresh energy, still untouched by the weight of experience. The silver surface in which it is reflected alludes to the city's radiance and the perpetual play of light that glimmers across glass towers and desert sands.
The foal's stillness conveys a moment of suspension – a pause in which energy and potential are on the verge of release, yet held in anticipation. It becomes a metaphor for passion, youth, and nobility – values that, much like Dubai itself, merge tradition and modernity, wildness and elegance, aspiration and its realization."

Two Fawns
2023
Dimensions: Fawn 1: 125 × 75 × 35 cm | Fawn 2: 120 × 90 × 35 cm
A fragment of the larger installation "Forest."
The "Forest" installation presents roe deer, either scattered individually or gathered in pairs, against a backdrop of sleek, contemporary architecture. This juxtaposition serves as an allegory for the modern forest and the forces of change.
Despite its minimalist form, the installation is profoundly expressive. For the artist, Dubai's soaring skyscrapers become a kind of contemporary woodland, and the roe deer, set against this urban panorama, symbolize our vulnerability and humility — and, by extension, our innate capacity to embrace and adapt to the transformations that lie ahead.
